Principal Message

Four Heroes Principal John Mitcher

Hello families!

Happy New Year! It is exciting to launch into a new year. This month’s message provides you with some important reminders.

Health Room Reminder during cold and flu season:

  • Cold and flu season is upon us! Winter weather can bring sniffles and illness. Although we don’t expect children to stay home for every runny nose they encounter, we do ask that you keep your child home for at least 24 hours if they are running a fever, bad cough, or vomiting. If your child experiences these symptoms at school, we will be contacting you to pick them up. We ask that you ensure your telephone and emergency contact numbers are up to date in the office. There may be times when your child will complain of illness, but it is hard to determine if they should be kept home from school if they are not experiencing any of the above symptoms. We encourage students to try to come to school and see how they feel after a period of time.

Recess and Winter Weather:

  • Outdoor recess allows children to get fresh air and a much needed movement break. It is a time for social interaction and is an important part of our school day. During the winter months, students should have appropriate outdoor attire to stay warm and dry during recess.

As always, thank you for your partnership! We value and appreciate our Top Dog families!
