Dual Language
Welcome to the Clover Park School District Dual Language Program!
About the Program
CPSD is dedicated to creating a dynamic, multicultural learning environment where students from Spanish and English-speaking backgrounds achieve bilingual proficiency and cultural appreciation. For the 2026-27 school year, incoming Four Heroes Elementary kindergarten students can participate in the two-way dual language program.
Bilingual & Biliterate
Students can read, write and speak in English and Spanish across all subjects.
Academic Achievement
Students achieve grade-level proficiency in BOTH English and Spanish across subjects.
Sociocultural Competence
Students make connections between the two languages and develop cross cultural skills in a multicultural environment.
The Four Heroes two-way dual language program equips students with the skills to speak, read, and write in both languages, preparing them for a diverse and interconnected world. Starting in kindergarten, students spend 90% of their day learning in Spanish to facilitate early Spanish acquisition, with 10% of the day dedicated to English Language Development. Instruction in English gradually increases until students spend roughly half of their day learning in each language by Grade 4. Under this model, the district will seek to enroll equal numbers of students from Spanish-speaking and English-speaking homes.
